Aaron Huey's TED Talk
In English class, we watched a Aaron Huey's TED Talk "Americas Native Prisoners of War". In this talk her explored the history of the US from the perspective of Native American people, specifically the Lakota Tribe. This activity fits into the pillar Communicate Ideas because it gave me the opportunity to listen to someone else communicate their ideas about the United States treatment of Native populations. Furthermore, it addresses my overarching question because I was experiencing a first hand account of the way the Lakota people saw dominant culture and government. It gave multiple examples of the never ending fight for civil rights by Native people. |
